![]() ![]() The barony of Wilhemshaven desperately needs to be removed. The culture of the province needs to be Frisian. The barony of Leer in the county of Oldenburg needs to be moved to Ostfriesland as it has always been part of Ostfriesland. The Culture of the province needs to be Frisian and the names of the counties could reflect this as well, West-Fryslân, Mid-Fryslân and East-Fryslân.* Suggested fix: Name it Friesland or Middenfriesland after the historical county that the Brunonen held in 1066. The county of Frisia doesn't follow the naming scheme of the other frisian counties such as Westfriesland and Ostfriesland. The ruler of the Frisia and Dokkum should be.* Suggested fix: Replace Delfzijl with Appingedam and replace Appingedam with Winsum, make Winsum a barony from which this county is controlled. Another problem is that Appingedam and Delfzijl are very close together and Appingedam should be in the Delfzijl province.Īn important town which served somewhat as a place from where the region was ruled was Winsum, which luckily enough is exactly where Appingedam is in this county. It currently has Appingedam, the only town that ever gained city rights in this region and Delfzijl, a modern town which has no place in Crusader Kings. The baronies in this new County of the Ommelanden should be overhauled.* Suggested fix: Rename Dokkum to Ommelanden and move Dokkum to the County of Frisia These would later form the Ommelanden and become part of the modern province of Groningen Instead Friesland east of the lauwers had other gouws which were Hunsingo and Fivelgo. Leeuwarden & Dokkum were part of Oostergo. This was known as Middelfriesland or Friesland west of the lauwers river and east of the vlie, which had the ancient gouws of Westergo, Oostergo, Zuidergo and some other minor ones. Dokkum was always part of the same territory as the other baronies of the county of Leeuwarden. The county of Dokkum should be replaced.* Possible solution: Make it a church holding in 837 and a city in 1066. Leeuwarden however wasn't settled and was not a seat of power until much later and should perhaps to removed from both startdates. From 837 there is reference of an abbey there. Stavoren is one of oldest inhabited places in the county of Friesland and should mostlikely be added in the 867 startdate.* Suggested Fix: Combine this with the island of Texel in Holland and call it Texel: a somewhat significant holding in history which even gained city rights later in Crusader Kings 3s Period. Third, it includes Vlieland and Terschelling which were until recent history always part of Westfriesland in modern day Holland. The Barony of Wadeilannen is first of all spelled wrong, (should be Waddeneilanden in dutch or Waadeilannen in Frisian), second, it shouldn't exist as it held very little relevance in this timeframe. If anyone has found other good spots please let me know. The lands of Frisia are marked by the many abbeys in this timeframe, sadly there is no church holding in this duchy However with barbarians at the door this might be a little more challenging. County of Kassel/Gottingen (Germany, Thuringia/Angria): You start with plenty of land and have Gottingen which has the best mine in the game. County of Klingenber/Speyer (Germany, Franconia): You start with many counties but the real gem is Speyer which has a farmland capital 4 plain baronies which can give you a solid economic base. As a bonus mountain building are great for spearmen for super Landsknechten. With the Karling infighting you might get a shot at creating the duchy of Tirol. County of Innsbruck (Bavaria, in the Alps): With mountains and a mine you should be able to get the cash flowing and have a great protection. If you manage to take over Aquitaine you'll have a nice duchy that you should be able to keep together. You are also vassal of a megaduke which provide good protection. County of Angouleme (France, Duchy of Aquitaine): you start with the only farmland in southern France and another forest province. Here are the few 867 starts which I found: However it is not easy to play tall everywhere. Hi folks, witht he focus on characters and roleplay and the new army system I have been having fun playing tall.
